ShutterFest is over but not quite...

After Shutterfest, we slowly headed down to Cuba, Missouri. There we attended a wonderfully put together group shoot. Bob's Gasoline Alley was an awesome backdrop for some epic photos. We enjoyed the morning shooting and enjoyed a wonderful catered lunch before heading out on the long journey back home to Michigan.

Some of the beautiful classic cars that were brought in for us to use in our set-ups.

This day was filled with fun. Taking on new perspectives and letting the creative side flow.

Taking behind the scene shots were as much fun as shooting your idea.

Here I even ventured to play with my off camera flash and fell in LOVE with the results!

Shutterfest 2016 - Day 1 - Rent a Human

One of the greatest things about Shutterfest is the modeling program aka Rent-a-Human. The modeling program allows us photographers to plan a somewhat stylized shoot. On day 1, I took advantage of this and got to play with a bride and groom! We (I was with a small group) had so much fun together! We tested ideas, some worked and some didn't.

These are my favorites from our time together.

Shutterfest 2016 - Day 2 - After Hours

On Wednesday, after the conference was technically over, we participated in a 60's stylized shoot.
Christopher and Kirsten did a great job.

I'll admit that I did not shoot for as long as I would have liked. We were all exhausted from the events of the previous few days.
I am still super happy with the images I achieved and loved working with these two models!

Shutterfest 2016 - Day 2 - Pin Up with Dave Doeppel

Day 2 was a little more low-key on the shooting front. We (my cousin, Trisha, and I) started the day with Dave Doeppel's pin up class. The idea of pin up was outside of my comfort zone and the goal I set for myself was to try and push those comfort boundaries. I so enjoyed this class and enjoyed the camaraderie and helpfulness of all of our classmates.

First up I have the beautiful Mary Poll. I had another set up with her but hadn't noticed the bad glare on back drop from the lights until afterward. I absolutely loved this image but was unable to decide which editing style I liked the best on it. The more I look at it now the the more I am pulled to a particular one. Which one do you find more appealing the left or the right?

Next is the ever popular Caitlyn Wood. I love her look so much and she is so great to work with.

Rounding out the morning is the gorgeous Madison Scroggin. Another great person to work with.

All three of these ladies were so much fun to be around and work with. I look forward to the possibility of working with them again this next April at Shutterfest. I am also excited to glean more information from Dave, who has now earned the title of Craftsman from PPA. Congratulations on your accomplishment. It definitely goes to show that hard work does pay off.

Shutterfest 2016 - Day 1 - After Hours

Day one after hours, I do believe was my favorite shoot. I absolutely loved getting to work with these beautiful and talented young ladies. Their beauty and skill made my job as a photographer seem effortless. I also did some experimenting with off camera flash on this shoot, I am very happy with the results!

Veronica was super fun to work with and such a pleasure to talk with. She also has a passion for photography so getting to "talk shop" with her was so much fun. Her beauty radiated through every interaction with her during our shoot!

I had the pleasure of working with Sydney last year as well as this year. She did a wonderful job helping me create my vision for her.

Ashleigh was another beautiful dancer that I had the pleasure of working with this year. I am super pleased with the images I was able to capture of her beauty. I look at these images and see such strength in her beauty, I am absolutely in love with them.

These three beautiful ladies made my night so much fun and so easy! Also if it were not for fellow photographer Phil Wood setting up and coordinating this shoot none of this would have been possible.

A huge THANK YOU! to everyone
who helped make this night the lovely evening that it was!

Shutterfest 2016 - Day 1 - Lunch break

The great thing about Shutterfest is that, even on your "down" time, you can still find things to shoot.  This afternoon I had the pleasure of photographing Madison Kae Scroggin. Brian DeMint and his wife, Dena, stylized this shoot. I was also able to play/test with lighting equipment from one of the vendors at Shutterfest. This was a great way to spend the remainder of the lunch break!
